Sping

Ah, yes spring is finally here in cold michigan. All though the weather is still very up and down all the time, we have had some days where it was fifty degrees outside. Awesome! I love the heat and crave the constant warmth. So you could imagine how it feels to have your spring fever being fulfilled. Now I'm starting to see more animals outside and they sure got fat from hibernation and stuffing their cheeks all winter. I've even been seeing this group of wild turkeys next to my house again. One of the little turkey members are an albino and he looks really cool.

The reason why spring has more daylight during the day is because in this time of the year, the earths axis is tilted in a better way for sunlight to reach it. Most people think that in the summer the earth is closer to the sun during its revolution, but really its farther away from the sun. Being close to the sun has barely any effect on the climate, but instead its the angle/rotation of the axis. Benjamin Franklin was the reason why we have daylight savings time today and he proposed in 1784 after constant observation of the vernal equinox. The vernal equinox is the first day of spring and is latin for equal night because its supposed to be equal night and day hours. When we say "I have spring fever", it isn't just a saying, its also a make up change within the body that can change your diet, hormone production, and body temperature.
