This may be odd to my readers at first that I'm writing about finger nails, but I like to learn about the body and I want to share about what I know about the different parts. For now on I will also be writing about the things in our body and the functions and facts about them. I find it fun to learn about and hope you do too.
Obviously by the title, this post is about our finger nails. Your nails are important for what we do in life by being able to pick things and to keep the tips of our fingers healthy. It takes about six months for our nails to grow from base to tip. Thats a long time. But most of our finger nails have dead cells in them because the only part of our nails that are living are in the white have circle at the base of our nails. That is also where more cells are produced and are pushed to the front (tip) of the nail. Your nails never stop growing and when it is growing the base of the nail produces new cells that push the existing cells across like a plank to the end of the nail. So thats how they form initially. When they split and crack at the tip of the nail and get thin and sharp, (this happens to me a lot) that means you lack certain vitamins in your body. Such as Biotin can help with this very well that also help with your skin and nails.
Sometimes putting certain nail polishes on can help nails restore nails and protect the nails from the elements of the world for the most part. Plus its pretty, but getting your nails a manicure at a beauty parlor/salon ruins your nails, cause great pain, and be bad for your health. The toxic chemicals they use for your nails can disintegrate your nails and stop further cell reproduction in the nails. It may be pretty, but is it worth it no longer having nails after a certain amount of time of getting them done and having pain? I think not, but many people will get fake nails and tell me I'm crazy, but really its not worth your money to me and its cheaper to do the same thing yourself.

"If I believe in myself, I can do anything I set my mind to"-Why this saying is false
The saying "If I believe in myself, I can do anything that I set my mind to" I believe this is not at all true. People will tell you that I'm the one thats wrong and that you can do anything in the world as long as you try hard enough. The reason its not true is because God has a plan and opportunity for everybody that he has given us to do. For example, I suck at math. I find it hard and I will never understand it. God just didn't give me that skill in my life, but hes given me others to embrace and to embark on. I love to help people and God gave me the caring qualities that makes me love others and want to help. But I will never be a mathematician, chemist, or a bodybuilder and things like that. I will embrace what I can and can not do and I know that I and everyone can't do everything in the world no matter what.

Squirrels with their nuts
Its fall and that means all animals are stocking up on supplies for the winter. Some animals get fat and sleep the whole time and others like the squirrel have to gather food. Every Time I'm riding in my car, I see a few squirrels running this way and that way with nuts in there mouth and barring them. But since all these cute squirrels keep running to find nuts, they dart into the road more often and get hit by a car. I always feel bad for the squirrels when I see them dead. You would think that they would learn from all of the times there ancestors died from darting across the road at the wrong time. There is one squirrel that lives near my library that grabs the nut, runs up the telephone poll and across the line, and hops on the tree to his den. Thats the only smart squirrel I've seen.
Did you know: Every year there at least one thousand new trees that sprout from squirrels forgetting where they left their nuts in the winter?

Holidays
Any holiday can be stressful and a lot of work to celebrate, but its worth it to spend time with family. Some holidays are pointless to celebrate, but are still fun too. I think we all need to know the true meaning of some holidays because its important to know. Christmas and Easter are both religious holidays and thanksgiving is when the pilgrims came. Christmas is about Jesus's birthday and not a fat santa giving children gifts. He was born and was giving gifts to celebrate the birth of the messiah. Thats why we still give and receive gifts today. Easter is when Jesus rose from the grave/dead and went to heaven and died for our sins.
It can be fun to dress up for Halloween, eat at Thanksgiving, give and receive gifts during Christmas, and tell that special someone you love them at Valentines day, but the holidays are about sharing that fun time with your family and friends and knowing the true value of them.
I think that the best time of the holidays are the day after sales. I always love to get to the stores at midnight and wait until they open to get the things I've been wanting the whole season for half off. It feels great to know you can get a great deal on a great item. I usually end up with a bunch of spa stuff or chocolate or swiss miss. Although it is tiring to do all of that shopping, I love spending time with my mom and other family when doing so.

Shopping
I've never been one to love or even like the action of shopping for clothes and shoes. It can be nice to get clothes, but shopping can be tiring. For example, you plan to go to a store to find some formal shoes for a party. It takes forever to find the right cute pair and then when you try them on they don't fit right or the material scratches you and it just doesn't end up working out with that pair like you thought. So, off to the next store and the next and the next and the next and you come across the star pair. It looks great, but when you go to find the box, your size is all gone. Then I get cranky and leave to go home empty handed. So as you read, shopping can be very stressful. Don't even get me started on swimsuits. Stores are so big with little time to investigate them all. But the type of shopping where I don't have to constantly try on and complain about is grocery shopping.

Marriage
Marriage is very important and should be respected by following the rules before it and during it. Many people might tell you that marriage is not important because its just a piece of paper or that you are just going to end up divorced anyway, so why even bother. That is not true, but feel free to think what you want. Marriage is about showing your love for someone in a deep way and you want to be with them truly forever until death do you part. Being happy with the person you love through the good and the bad. In my religion and my heart, people need to remain a virgin until marriage. To some this may seem impossible to do, but its not right to do because what if you have sex with someone you thought you knew and then more times than not, they break your heart. Its just not worth it. If you truly love and respect someone, you will wait to see the real them and get married.
CPR
Now my dad is a tall guy, about six foot something. So, therefore he needs to eat more than the average, but everytime he eats he chokes. There is not one meal he eats without the sound of a dying cat going through his lips and hacking up a lung. We all laugh at him at the dinner table and he gets a bright tomato face. It takes him a few minutes to get the food out, but he lives. Never a too serious form of choking to "death". He was in a stage 1 CPR.
CPR is divided up into 3 stages. Stage 1 is just choking out the food and getting it unstuck from the windpipe and your fine. Stage 2 is when things are serious. After someone can't get the food out or talk/cough then someone who is CPR certified needs to give them the heimlich maneuver to get it out. Stage 3 is the most dangerous level of choking for assistance. It means that the person is unconscious and not breathing. You have to give them mouth to mouth resuscitation and give them chest pumps in intervals until the ambulance comes to take over.
Believe me, CPR is more important than you think. It will save lives and you will never know when you may need that knowledge. I know that I'm sure glad my mom knew CPR. A couple of years ago, I was choking on a cough drop (ironically) and was clenching my throat and couldn't breath. My mom ran over to me and gave me the heimlich and with one squeeze the cough drop was evacuated.
